Pet Digital Radiology

Digital x-rays assist in diagnosing illness & injury.

Radiographs (x-rays) can be used to screen your pet for injuries, orthopedic conditions, masses, and many other diseases.  We may use the information in combination with other diagnostics in order to determine the cause of an illness or to screen for underlying problems.

To avoid a blurry image, pets need to remain completely still while an image is taken. Most animals will require only minimal restraint.  However, in some cases, we may need to sedate your pet or use short-acting general anesthesia.

At Veterinary Associates, we use a digital development system, which allows us to manipulate and adjust the images, giving us more information from each radiograph, and improving the diagnostic accuracy – this also means less radiation exposure to your pet, and less cost to you.  If referral to a specialist is necessary for your pet, we can send digital copies of these images to the referral facility.

If your pet is experiencing pain and you’re unable to identify the cause, reach out to us at (719) 564-0330.
